Join the Good Work
Come be part of something meaningful with the Kite Shop community. There are three simple ways to get involved:
1. Sponsor a child 2. Join us on a home-building trip 3. Give to the Kite Shop Fund
“What happens in this small summer shop reaches far beyond Lakeside.”
One child. One family. One steady presence.
Child sponsorship provides consistent support for a child’s education, daily meals, healthcare, and mentorship. It means school uniforms and supplies. It means tutoring when learning feels hard. It means someone shows up.
Most of all, it means a child knows they are seen.
● Upcoming Trips
Serve. Learn. Be changed.
Serve alongside fellow Lakesiders on a home-building trip to Guatemala.
These trips blend meaningful service with cultural exploration and adventure. Together we work with local partners to build homes for families while experiencing the beauty and spirit of Guatemala.
Trips are led by Kim and Will Honeycutt, who have helped guide this partnership for many years.
If you'd like to learn more or stay informed about the next trip, contact us.
Craftsmanship matters. Communities matter. Showing up matters most.
Through our local partners, sponsorship helps provide children with daily meals, access to education, medical care when needed, and a safe place to learn and grow. Just as important, it surrounds them with mentors who believe in their future.
For many families, this support changes what’s possible for their children.
Several members of the Kite Shop community sponsor children, and when we travel to Guatemala we often have the chance to meet some of these incredible kids in person. Those connections make the relationship even more meaningful.
If you’re interested in sponsoring a child, we’d love to help you get connected.
